Barack Obama - our new President

Last night on Tuesday November 4, 2008, we had front row seats to history when Barack Obama became the President of the United States of America. Not only have we finally unseated the Republicans from the presidency, but we did so with the first African-American president. I am so honored to be part of the process as well as a witness to this day.
Obama's acceptance speech was quintessential Obama - stirring up emotion and hope within all the people who listened. Even Jesse Jackson was crying!
Congratulations America, we've got a President that we yearn for and one that will inspire our country.
In other things, I can't believe that California, of all places, is letting Proposition 8, a law that bans gay marriage, pass. California is supposed to be a model to the rest of the nation in tolerance and liberties. I can't believe it.
